As shops need to buy their stock well in advance, I find I am becoming pressed to paint things out of season. Such is the way of life, but I still find it bizarre to be thinking about Christmas cards in the summer and flowers in the winter!
This of course is the beauty of photography – I have my subjects stored electronically just waiting for me to paint them. Greyhounds, of course, are beautiful all year round, but there is something very pleasing about painting flowers in the summer time.
This year I have been tempted to incorporate some bees in with my flowers, and this is something I plan to continue next year. I love to photograph bees and capturing images of them in flight is a source of hours of entertainment on those long balmy summer days.
